The idea

A pale, cold palette of glacier blue and snow white, with cards that look cut from frosted ice. Light passes through everything; edges catch a faint cyan highlight. Clean, clinical and refreshing, like the first breath outside on a January morning.

Ice Glass is glassmorphism done cold and light. The canvas is a pale sky blue with a barely-there mesh of ice, powder blue and lilac; cards are frosted white panes that let that colour bleed through at 60–70% opacity. It borrows from Nordic product design and laboratory packaging: precise, clean, a little clinical, never sterile. One deep glacier blue does all the work of action and emphasis. The page should feel like cold, clean air.

Principles

  • Keep the mesh pale enough that ink stays above 12:1 contrast everywhere.
  • Frost the cards; never make them fully transparent.
  • One deep blue for every action — no second button colour.
  • Let product imagery float with no frames and soft shadows.
  • Prefer precise numbers to adjectives in every headline and stat.

Motion

Panes rise 16px and sharpen from 70% to 100% opacity in a 90ms stagger. On hover a cyan specular highlight slides across the top edge of the card over 600ms, like light crossing a block of ice.

Do & don't

Do

  • ✓ Use temperature and percentage numerals as headline anchors.
  • ✓ Keep card fills at 60–70% opacity so the mesh shows through.
  • ✓ Add a 1px white top border to every pane for the ice edge.

Don't

  • ✕ Don't use warm colours anywhere, including photography.
  • ✕ Don't make glass fully transparent; text needs a frosted base.
  • ✕ Don't put cyan text on white — it fails contrast.
