The idea

Full-bleed nebula photography in magenta and teal dust, overlaid with smoked-glass panels and wide, engineered capitals. Labels read like telemetry. It feels like a mission-control screen that someone with taste was allowed to design.

Nebula Deep pairs real deep-field astrophotography with the restraint of mission-control interfaces. The hero is a full-bleed nebula; everything else lives on smoked-glass panels that let the dust colours bleed faintly through. Type is wide, engineered and uppercase, like lettering on a spacecraft hull, with telemetry-style mono labels everywhere. It draws from 1970s space-programme graphics and modern observatory imaging. The tone is awe, held in check by precision.

Principles

  • Let the nebula photograph be the only full-colour moment on the page.
  • Set display type wide, uppercase and modest in size — authority comes from width, not scale.
  • Label everything like telemetry: units, counts, statuses.
  • Teal means 'go'; magenta is atmosphere only.
  • Keep panels smoked and dark so the photograph never competes with text.

Motion

The hero nebula drifts 3% and rotates 1 degree over 60 seconds, like a slow telescope track. Panels resolve from a 16px blur while mono telemetry labels count up from zero.

Do & don't

Do

  • ✓ Prefix sections with mono indices like '02 / CAPABILITIES'.
  • ✓ Include units on every number (km², min, PB).
  • ✓ Anchor the hero headline bottom-left on a glass slab.

Don't

  • ✕ Don't set Michroma above 64px or in long sentences.
  • ✕ Don't use illustrated planets or cartoon rockets.
  • ✕ Don't place text directly on the bright nebula core.
