The idea
The visual equivalent of an unbranded cashmere coat. Warm taupe and limestone neutrals, a slender display face set in widely spaced capitals, and soft natural-light photography of materials up close. It never sells; it simply describes, and lets the quality be noticed.
Quiet Stone is quiet luxury made literal: taupe, limestone and undyed wool, and the confidence to say very little. It draws on the hushed showrooms of old tailoring houses, mid-century Italian product catalogues and the restraint of private banking stationery. Display type is a slender high-contrast face set in uppercase with wide 0.14em tracking, which reads as engraved rather than shouted. There are no logos, no badges, no urgency — just measured statements of fact and materials photographed close enough to feel.
Principles
- Say less: one short sentence where others write three.
- State facts, never adjectives — grams, gauges, years, places.
- Track display capitals wide and keep them modest in size.
- Neutral tones only; the warmth comes from material texture.
- No urgency devices: no sale banners, countdowns or stock warnings.
Motion
Content arrives in a slow 1.6-second sine fade with only 6px of travel — barely perceptible. Links underline in taupe over 400ms; nothing else moves.
Do & don't
Do
- ✓ Write product facts as numbers: 410g, 12 gauge, six shades.
- ✓ Track all display caps at +0.12em to +0.16em.
- ✓ Centre the hero and keep its headline under 8 words.
Don't
- ✕ Don't use any saturated colour.
- ✕ Don't show logos, monograms or badges on products.
- ✕ Don't use sale, urgency or scarcity language.
