The idea

A deep bottle-green page with fine gold rules and engraved Roman capitals, like the endpapers of a family ledger or the lobby of a private bank. Generous margins, unhurried copy and numbers set with care. Discreet, permanent and reassuring rather than flashy.

Verdant Reserve is old money, expressed with restraint. A deep bottle-green canvas, fine antique-gold hairlines and engraved Roman capitals evoke private library walls, ledger endpapers and the brass plaques of discreet banking houses. A light, modern sans keeps the reading easy so it never tips into pastiche. Photography is dark and warm: lamplight on leather, panelled rooms, objects that last. It should feel permanent and quietly confident — a firm that has no need to raise its voice.

Principles

  • Gold is a hairline, never a slab: rules, outlines, numerals.
  • Engraved capitals for headlines, set wide and calm.
  • Margins are a luxury; give every section 150px of air.
  • Numbers are stated precisely and modestly, with regulatory notes.
  • Nothing moves quickly; motion only reveals.

Motion

Gold hairline rules draw outward from the centre over 900ms as each section enters, then the engraved headline reveals from behind them. The hero photograph holds still; nothing in this system hurries.

Do & don't

Do

  • ✓ Use 1px gold hairlines to divide every section.
  • ✓ Set headlines in engraved caps with generous tracking.
  • ✓ Number features with Roman numerals.

Don't

  • ✕ Don't fill buttons or panels with gold at rest.
  • ✕ Don't use gradients, glass or glow.
  • ✕ Don't use bright greens or modern fintech blues.
